Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 216 Terrorists in Balochistan Clearance Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced today the successful conclusion of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1, a massive, intelligence-driven counter-terrorism campaign in Balochistan. The operation resulted in the elimination of 216 terrorists linked to “Indian-sponsored” proxy networks, significantly degrading the operational capacity of groups designated by the state as Fitna-al-Hindustan.

Operation Overview and Strategic Success

Launched in response to a spate of coordinated attacks on January 31, the operation targeted terrorist hideouts in Panjgur, Harnai, Nushki, and surrounding districts. According to the ISPR, the swift and precise execution by Pakistan’s security forces and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) successfully:

  • Eliminated 216 terrorists, including key figures in leadership and command-and-control structures.
  • Recovered a substantial cache of foreign-origin weapons, ammunition, and sophisticated explosives.
  • Dismantled sleeper cells through sustained combing and sanitization operations.

Sacrifice for National Sovereignty

The military media wing confirmed that while the operation was a tactical success, it came at a high cost to the nation. 36 innocent civilians, including women and children, were martyred by terrorist elements during the unrest. Additionally, 22 brave security personnel made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, defending the territorial integrity of Pakistan.

State Leadership Reacts

President Asif Ali Zardari commended the forces for thwarting the “nefarious attempts” of foreign-backed elements to disrupt the peace of Balochistan, stating that the eradication of such proxies remains the state’s top priority.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the professional capabilities of the armed forces, noting that the operation has “broken the backbone” of the enemies of development. He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to continue the war against terrorism under the National Action Plan (NAP) until the threat is entirely eradicated.

Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti issued a stern warning via social media, identifying the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) as a “fitna” acting at the behest of external handlers. “Any hand raised against Pakistan will not only be dealt with by the law but will be broken,” Bugti asserted.

Forward Outlook

The ISPR emphasized that the successful conclusion of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1 stands as a testament to the resilience of the people of Balochistan. While the main clearance phase has concluded, “mop-up” actions and intelligence-based monitoring will continue to ensure long-term stability and the protection of development projects in the province.
