Heavy Snowfall Brings Daily Life to a Halt
Severe winter weather has disrupted life in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as heavy rain and snowfall hit Orakzai and Kurram districts. Roads were blocked, vehicles stranded, and travel became dangerous as snow piled up across key routes. Residents faced serious difficulties accessing food, medical care, and safe passage. The sudden weather change created emergency conditions, especially in remote and mountainous areas where road access is already limited.

Army Clears Roads and Restores Connectivity
In response to the crisis, the Pakistan Army launched immediate relief operations in the affected districts. In Orakzai, army personnel worked on an emergency basis to clear snow-blocked roads and reopen vital routes. Heavy machinery was deployed to remove snow and debris, allowing traffic to resume.
In Kurram district, which was also badly affected, the Army carried out a swift rescue operation and successfully restored an eight-kilometer stretch of road. The Manato–Sadda road, a key link for local communities, had been completely blocked due to snowfall, leaving many vehicles stuck for hours. Army teams worked tirelessly to reopen the road and ensure safe movement.

Passengers Evacuated, Safety Ensured
During the operation, stranded passengers and vehicles were safely evacuated and moved to secure locations.
