Ambassador Jadoon praised the parliamentary elections, held on October 05, 2025, for the People’s Assembly. He called it a significant step, and an important move for rebuilding of state institutions, and political engagement. Furthermore, he noted, the integration of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) units into the national army is a positive and necessary contribution for national cohesion.
During the same address, Ambassador Jadoon, urged the international community to ease sanctions on Syria, in order to enable the economic recovery and reconstruction. He also acknowledged the lifting of some restrictive measures by the US and EU.
Furthermore, Pakistan strongly condemned Israel’s “repeated and egregious” violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. He also warned that Israeli forces are “seriously undermining” Syria’s unity and stability by maintaining military positions on the Syrian side of the ceasefire line. He stressed that any new security arrangements must have the consent of the concerned parties.
