The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has finalized preparations for a 12-day Measles-Rubella (MR) Prevention and Control Campaign, set to begin on November 17.
According to the DHA Chief Executive Officer, the drive aims to immunize 822,766 children aged six months to five years against measles and rubella, both highly contagious and potentially life-threatening diseases.
The campaign will prioritize rural communities, targeting over 189,000 children in those areas. In total, 703 vaccination teams will participate, including 486 outreach teams conducting door-to-door and school visits to cover more than 736,000 children.
Additionally, 217 fixed teams will operate at health facilities and public sites for easy access to 86,400 children.
A total of 2,797 trained personnel, including 703 vaccinators, 703 assistants, 212 supervisors, and 1,189 social mobilisers, have been mobilized to ensure smooth execution of the campaign.
