Pakistan and seven other key Muslim nations, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, issued a stinging joint rebuke of the Israeli government’s latest moves in the occupied West Bank. The coalition’s statement followed a radical policy shift approved by the Israeli security cabinet on Sunday, which officially removed decades-old restrictions on Jewish settlers purchasing land privately. The eight nations characterized these measures as an “illegal attempt to impose sovereignty” and a calculated step toward the total annexation of Palestinian territory.

The diplomatic backlash centers on new Israeli administrative decrees that bypass traditional military oversight. Under the new rules, the Israeli government has declassified West Bank land registry records and granted its authorities direct enforcement powers in Areas A and B, regions theoretically under Palestinian Authority control. This includes the ability to demolish Palestinian structures deemed “harmful to heritage” and the transfer of planning authority for religious sites, such as the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, to Israeli municipal bodies.
The ministers emphasized that these “expansionist policies” are a direct assault on the two-state solution and the June 1967 borders. In Islamabad, Pakistan’s Foreign Office reaffirmed that such unilateral actions have no legal standing and only serve to fuel regional instability while the international community is attempting to advance the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump’s regional peace plan.
