During his visit to Manama, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Pakistan is “ready to enhance economic cooperation” with Bahrain across various strategic fields, aiming to convert decades of friendship into a robust economic partnership.
Speaking to the business community, the Prime Minister highlighted key growth areas including agriculture, information technology, artificial intelligence, and financial technology. He underscored Pakistan’s commitment to training its significant youth bulge; 60% of the population aged 15 to 30, in these modern fields, seeking to leverage this talent pool through collaboration with Bahraini expertise and investment.

PM Sharif revealed that the Gulf Cooperation Council Free Trade Agreement (GCC FTA) is “nearly finalised,” which is expected to boost trade significantly between Pakistan and Bahrain.
The two nations have also set a goal to raise their bilateral trade to US$1 billion within the next three years.
The Prime Minister assured investors that Pakistan is undergoing structural transformation, emphasizing that red tape has been cut and new sectors like agri-business, minerals, and tourism have been opened for long-term partnership, urging them to make this moment their launching pad for collaboration.
