DOHA, QATAR – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi today on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha. The high-level meeting focused on mutual condemnation of the recent Israeli aggression against Qatar and a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.

The Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of the Israeli aggression against Qatar, which occurred on September 9. Both leaders expressed their solidarity with the State of Qatar, terming the violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity by Israel as a reckless and blatant violation of international law. Prime Minister Sharif also appreciated Egypt’s proactive diplomatic efforts at this critical juncture and hailed the Doha Summit as a vital step to demonstrate unity within the Muslim world against Israel’s actions.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to enhance bilateral relations with Egypt, recalling his earlier interactions with the Egyptian President. The discussion centered on strengthening cooperation, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, and health. The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact to coordinate efforts, especially in view of the rapidly evolving regional situation.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff.
