AJK Government Unmasks India-Backed Subversion by JAAC

The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) has taken a decisive stand against elements threatening the region’s stability, explicitly accusing the proscribed Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) of acting as a front for anti-state networks backed directly by New Delhi.

In a joint press conference on Monday alongside the AJK Police spokesperson, Information Secretary Muhammad Rashid Hanif revealed that the banned group’s violent, lawless campaigns have inflicted a staggering Rs15 billion in financial losses on the state. The briefing forcefully exposed how a movement that originally claimed to focus on public relief has been thoroughly hijacked by foreign handlers determined to engineer chaos along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Anatomy of a Hijacked Movement

The state’s comprehensive briefing mapped out the evolution of the JAAC from a localized economic grievance group into a highly structured, unregistered anti-state entity:

  • Sovereign Relief Weaponized: The movement initially surfaced during the post-pandemic global inflationary squeeze of the early 2020s. The AJK government responded immediately with massive, unprecedented subsidies on wheat and electricity, rendering both essential commodities significantly cheaper in AJK than anywhere else in Pakistan.

  • The Foreign Pivot: Rather than accepting these historic relief packages, the JAAC’s overseas handlers and domestic agitators shifted their goals toward explicit political subversion. The government presented verified video evidence detailing overseas handlers and domestic leaders actively chanting slogans against Pakistan and its Armed Forces while orchestrating widespread anarchy.

From Peaceful Assembly to Organized Violence

The AJK leadership detailed a dangerous, calculated escalation in the group’s tactics, proving that the JAAC long ago crossed the boundary of peaceful democratic protest to launch direct assaults on state infrastructure and security apparatuses:

  • Targeting Law Enforcement: During their sit-ins, JAAC activists systematically escalated tensions, clashing directly with Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police and physically desecrating the uniforms of state law enforcement officials.

  • Assassination Attempts: The group has systematically targeted administrative officials on duty, including a documented attempted assassination of an Assistant Commissioner in Chamyati, alongside severe physical assaults on a Superintendent of Police and other state representatives in Bagh.

  • Human Shields: In a highly disturbing development, state authorities condemned the JAAC’s calculated deployment of women and children as human shields during physical confrontations with security forces, calling it a dangerous and unacceptable violation of local norms.

Resolute Defense of the Motherland

The financial toll of Rs15 billion has severely strained the state’s development funds, directly sabotaging public education, disrupting small businesses, and halting routine life for everyday citizens under the cynical guise of human rights advocacy.

“There is credible, verified evidence of foreign funding explicitly aimed at mobilizing select members of the overseas diaspora to fuel unrest within the territory.”

— Muhammad Rashid Hanif, AJK Information Secretary

The mood across the AJK government and Pakistan’s security apparatus remains highly resolute. With the state uncovering explicit digital and financial trails linking the protest organizers directly to Indian-backed destabilization campaigns, law enforcement agencies have reaffirmed their absolute commitment to protecting the civilian population. The AJK administration emphasized that the sovereignty of the liberated territory will be fiercely defended against any external or internal actor attempting to compromise the historic, unshakeable bond between the people of Kashmir and the state of Pakistan.
