Apple and Samsung Set for Major 2026 Mobile Shakeups

The smartphone rivalry is heating up with massive leaks for both Apple and Samsung. Tech insiders report that Apple is planning a radical overhaul for Siri in iOS 27, aiming to transform the voice assistant into a ChatGPT-style AI chatbot. Code-named “Campos,” this update is expected to debut at WWDC in June and will leverage Google’s Gemini technology. The new Siri will reportedly handle complex queries, generate images, and deeply integrate with core apps like Mail and Photos, finally closing the generative AI gap that has plagued the iPhone for years.

Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, now rumored for February 25, 2026. The upcoming Galaxy S26 series, comprising the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra, will debut with One UI 8.5. A standout feature confirmed by accidental official leaks is the “Privacy Display,” a built-in digital mode that mimics a frosted privacy screen protector to block side-angle prying eyes. Despite earlier rumors of an “S26 Edge” or “S26 Pro,” recent regulatory filings suggest Samsung is sticking to its traditional three-model lineup.

The S26 Ultra is expected to be the crown jewel, featuring a massive 5,500mAh stacked battery, 60W wired charging, and up to 16GB of RAM. While the design remains largely familiar, leaks suggest more rounded corners and a bold new “Cobalt Violet” hero color. As both giants lean into advanced AI and privacy hardware, 2026 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for mobile innovation.
