Pak-China Talks on CPEC Phase II, Water, and Energy Near Finalization

Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong has announced that key discussions between Pakistan and China on CPEC Phase II, water storage technology, and new energy projects have reached their final stages.

Speaking at the Pak-China Investment Conference 2026, organised by the Balochistan Board of Investment at the Chinese Consulate on Friday, Yang expressed strong support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to mediate between Iran and the United States. He acknowledged Islamabad’s active role in promoting regional stability amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

The Consul General said several important strategic agreements between the two countries are expected to be finalised soon, which will further drive sustainable economic development, particularly in Balochistan.

Reflecting on the journey of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Yang noted that its launch in 2013 helped Pakistan overcome logistical challenges and build deep mutual trust, even during difficult times such as the pandemic and geopolitical tensions.

He emphasised that CPEC is far more than an infrastructure project — it is a cornerstone of long-term economic growth and shared prosperity for both nations.
