NEW YORK, NY | July 29, 2025 — Pakistan has intensified its global advocacy for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and the universal recognition of the State of Palestine. Speaking at the UN High-Level International Conference on the Question of Palestine and at a UN Security Council debate, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, powerfully articulated the nation’s unwavering stance.
The Deputy Prime Minister condemned the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, describing it as a graveyard for innocent lives and international law, and a moral stain on humanity. He further emphasized the imperative for full and unimpeded humanitarian access to all Palestinian territories, alongside protection for aid workers.
A core demand from Pakistan is the universal recognition of the State of Palestine, advocating for its full membership in the United Nations. Pakistan believes that Palestine’s full membership in the UN is the best guarantee for lasting peace in the region. The country urged all UN member states to follow the lead of nations recognizing Palestine, reinforcing the vision of a sovereign, independent, and contiguous Palestinian State based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
Pakistan also called for international accountability for war crimes and a genuine political process to end the occupation, reiterating its readiness to offer technical and capacity-building support to Palestine in critical sectors. This resolute diplomatic push highlights Pakistan’s consistent commitment to justice and human dignity in the Middle East.
