Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi delivered a briefing in Islamabad detailing Pakistan ongoing mediation efforts to resolve US-Iran conflict. Additionally, he welcomed the roiling by Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) at The Hague in the Indus Waters Treaty.
Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi on Wednesday said Pakistan remained hopeful and committed to pursuing dialogue and diplomacy to help resolve the standoff between Iran and the United States.

Andrabi reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace in the briefing and the preference for restraint, dialogue, and diplomacy. In the backdrop of Pakistan’s effort to uphold peace Andrabi directed attention towards the diplomatic engagements by Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of Defence Forces.
The briefing by Foreign Office detailed that high-level Pakistani civil and military leadership engaged Iranian counterparts to proceed with the Islamabad MoU framework, and to secure maritime passage around Strait of Hormuz.
Andrabi further noted that PCA’s ruling regarding Indus Water Treaty reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance, it remains in full force despite India’s abeyance claims, and he directed for the suspension of work on the Ratle hydroelectric project in occupied Kashmir.
Lastly, Andrabi introduced Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan as his successor. Andrabi will be assuming the role as Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
