Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Zhaparov Arrives in Islamabad for Two-Day State Visit

His Excellency Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, arrived in Islamabad today on his maiden two-day state visit to Pakistan, at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising senior cabinet ministers, high-ranking officials, and prominent business leaders, President Zhaparov was warmly received at Nur Khan Airbase by a ceremonial welcome contingent.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz President will hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari, followed by a tête-à-tête and delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He is also scheduled to address the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum, showcasing opportunities for enhanced economic collaboration.

The two sides will review the full spectrum of bilateral relations and explore new avenues to deepen cooperation across diverse sectors, including:

• Trade and investment
• Energy partnerships
• Defence and security
• Education and cultural exchanges
• People-to-people contacts
• Regional connectivity initiatives

This landmark visit, the first by a Kyrgyz head of state in two decades (since January 2005), reflects the enduring brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan, rooted in shared history, faith, and common aspirations for peace and prosperity in Central and South Asia.

The engagements are expected to impart fresh momentum to bilateral cooperation, reinforce collaboration at regional and multilateral forums, and unlock new opportunities for mutual growth and development.
