Security forces in Pakistan conducted an Intelligence-Based Operation (IBO) in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) on Monday, resulting in the elimination of seven militants referred to by the government as Khwarij (Fitna al-Khawarij), a term officially adopted to label groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as deviants or secessionists.
The operation was launched against the individuals, described by state media as “Indian sponsored” who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region. During the intense fire exchange, one brave soldier, Naik Yasir Khan, fought gallantly and embraced shahadat (martyrdom), paying the ultimate sacrifice for the motherland.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the scene as a sanitization operation continues to clear the area of any remaining terrorists. The successful IBO is part of Pakistan’s renewed and comprehensive counter-terrorism campaign, “Azm-e-Istehkam” (Resolve for Stability), which was approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan in June 2024.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have both issued separate statements commending the security forces for their professional capabilities and paying rich tribute to the fallen soldier.
