The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) officially named Taylor Swift the Global Artist of the Year for 2025. This milestone marks Swift’s fourth consecutive win and her sixth overall, a record-breaking feat that surpasses all other artists in the award’s 13-year history. The IFPI, which represents the global recorded music industry, calculates the honor by evaluating an artist’s total consumption across streaming, digital downloads, and physical sales for their entire catalog.

Swift’s continued dominance was fueled by her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which debuted in October 2025 and shattered modern-era records by selling over 3.4 million copies in its first week in the U.S. alone. Her success was further amplified by the release of her tour documentary, The End of an Era, which maintained high levels of fan engagement throughout the year. The IFPI noted that Swift has now won this award as many times as all other winners combined over the last decade.
