President Asif Ali Zardari is on a four-day official visit to Doha, Qatar, commencing today to participate in the prestigious World Summit for Social Development.
The Summit, hosted by Qatar, will gather world leaders with the primary objective of redoubling global efforts toward achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The event is expected to conclude with the adoption of the significant Doha Political Declaration.

President Zardari is scheduled to address the Summit on Tuesday, where he will underscore the critical need for enhanced global cooperation aimed at realizing social justice, equality, and human dignity across the globe.
A key focus of his address will be the necessity for an inclusive and reformed global financial architecture to provide robust support for social development, particularly in the nations of the Global South.
The President will also highlight Pakistan’s achievements and progress in vital areas of social uplift, including poverty eradication, public health, education reforms, and sustainable development initiatives.
On the margins of the Summit, President Zardari is slated to hold a series of bilateral meetings with attending world leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest, strengthen diplomatic ties, and promote avenues for increased economic and strategic collaboration.
The visit reflects Pakistan’s firm commitment to multilateral platforms and its active role in shaping a more equitable global order aligned with the principles of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
