Security Forces Launch Anti-Terror, and Residency Crackdown Against Illegal Afghans in Pakistan

In a major coordinated strike against unlawful residency and security threats, Pakistan’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies executed a large-scale combing operation across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Murree. The operation focused on identifying illegal foreign nationals and enforcing strict adherence to tenancy and identity laws.

Under an integrated operational framework involving 368 personnel from the Pakistan Rangers, Elite Force, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Dolphin Squad, and intelligence units, authorities conducted rigorous screenings of residential areas and commercial hubs.

Operational Breakdown by District

  • Islamabad: Targeted G-9 and Peshawar Mor. Authorities inspected over 300 houses and nearly 100 shops, resulting in the arrest of seven suspects and four illegal Afghan nationals.

  • Rawalpindi: Focused on Pir Wadhai and Misrial Road. Inspections covered 235 houses, leading to the detention of several undocumented foreigners and 19 additional suspects found with fake identity documents.

  • Jhelum & Chakwal: Operations led to the recovery of illegal weaponry and the apprehension of an absconding suspect. Multiple individuals were booked for harboring illegal foreigners in violation of provincial laws.

  • Murree: Joint teams intensified monitoring of guest houses and private residences to ensure total compliance with residency protocols.
