Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Thursday emphasized the Pakistan Army’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy towards any threats to national security during a high-level visit to the Lahore Garrison.
Addressing officers of the formation, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed the military’s resolve to respond to evolving challenges with professional excellence and determination. He underscored the armed forces’ commitment to safeguarding the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and internal stability of Pakistan.

Operational Preparedness and Innovation
Upon his arrival, the Field Marshal was received by the Lahore Corps Commander and provided with a comprehensive briefing on operational readiness and training standards. A key highlight of the visit was a specialized field training exercise designed to showcase:

Demonstrating the leadership’s focus on troop morale, the CDF inspected various sports and recreational facilities. He emphasized that physical fitness and well-being are foundational to the high morale and performance of the troops. Additionally, he visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Lahore, where he lauded the medical administration for establishing a state-of-the-art care center.

Strategic Context
The visit follows recent statements by the military leadership identifying Afghanistan as a significant hub for non-state actors and labeling the ruling Taliban as a “mother organisation” for terror groups since 2021. Field Marshal Munir’s remarks reiterate the military’s stance against India-sponsored proxies and any domestic rhetoric aimed at undermining national unity.
“The armed forces remain committed to selfless national service and will deal sternly with any forces attempting to destabilize the state,” the Field Marshal stated, echoing the military’s overarching strategy of deterrence and stability.
