Terror Links and Objectives
Initial investigations revealed that the group had been trained abroad under RAW’s supervision and tasked with launching attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and critical installations in Karachi. They were also involved in terror financing, targeted assassinations, and efforts to foment sectarian violence in the city. The group’s activities were part of a larger RAW strategy to create instability in Pakistan’s urban centers and undermine peace, particularly in Karachi.
CTD Statement
A senior CTD official stated:
“The arrests have foiled a major RAW-backed terror plot in Karachi. Pakistan’s security agencies remain fully vigilant and will continue to dismantle such networks aimed at destabilizing the country.”
Next Steps
The suspects have been booked under anti-terrorism laws, and investigations are underway to identify their facilitators and uncover broader linkages. Security officials confirmed that the crackdown against foreign-sponsored sleeper cells will continue with zero tolerance.
National Security Commitment
The successful operation underscores the resolve of Pakistan’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies to protect national security and ensure peace in the country. The CTD reaffirmed its commitment to neutralize hostile intelligence networks and safeguard the people of Pakistan from terrorism.
