GAZA CITY – August 14, 2025 – The humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza has intensified, with the Health Ministry reporting that at least 54 Palestinians, including 22 aid seekers, have been killed and 831 injured in Israeli attacks within a 24-hour period. These casualties are part of a broader crisis that has also seen the number of hunger-related deaths rise to 239, with 106 children among the deceased, according to the ministry.
The UN has urged “unimpeded humanitarian access” in Gaza, as a representative from Doctors Without Borders (MSF) highlighted the devastating impact of the aid blockade. The MSF official stated that limited aid is “just a drop in the ocean” and that aid distribution sites are causing “mass casualty incidents” due to the chaotic conditions. This has led to widespread malnutrition, with medical staff collapsing and blood donors being turned away.
Palestinians are enduring a humanitarian catastrophe of horrific proportions.
Children in Gaza are dying from starvation and bombardments.
We need unimpeded humanitarian access across Gaza.
Now.

In a separate development, Israel’s far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, has announced plans to approve the construction of over 3,000 homes in the E1 settlement area of the occupied West Bank. The move is seen as a way to destroy the territorial continuity needed for a future Palestinian state. Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned these actions, along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s “Greater Israel vision,” as an “arrogant” approach that fuels crises and violates international law. The war, now in its 21st month, has resulted in over 61,776 Palestinian deaths and 154,906 injuries.
