The Miss Universe UAE Organization proudly announces Mariam Mohamed as Miss Universe UAE 2025. The 26-year-old fashion student was selected following a rigorous and transparent process that saw hundreds of exceptional young women apply from across the nation.
Mariam Mohamed makes history as the first Emirati woman to ever represent the United Arab Emirates on the Miss Universe stage. She will proudly carry the nation’s flag at the global Miss Universe 2025 competition, scheduled to be held next month in Thailand.

A Voice for Empowerment and Impact
Mariam’s journey is defined by a dedication to advocacy and a mission to be a powerful “voice for women.” Her core platform focuses on fighting poverty, empowering women, and fostering communities of love and peace globally.

A woman who successfully bridges academia, art, and advocacy, Mariam holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sydney and is currently furthering her education in fashion design at ESMOD Dubai. She is a dedicated advocate for sustainable fashion and has participated in key charitable initiatives, including the Ramadan Aman and The Giving Family Initiative.

Blending Heritage and Innovation
Mariam embodies the UAE’s blend of deep-rooted heritage and modern innovation. Her passions range from traditional Emirati pursuits like falconry and camel riding to progressive fields such as global cultural exchange and sustainable design. She is determined to inspire a new generation of Emirati women by demonstrating how to honor tradition while successfully shaping a brighter global future.
Poppy Capella, National Director of Miss Universe UAE, expressed her delight with the selection. “Mariam Mohamed distinguished herself not only with her eloquence and vision but also with her profound ability to represent the core values of the UAE: heritage, empowerment, and a global perspective,” said Ms. Capella. “Her unique combination of academic excellence, passionate advocacy for women and poverty eradication, and her deep pride in Emirati culture made her the ideal candidate to carry our nation’s flag on the global Miss Universe stage.”
The Miss Universe UAE 2025 competition saw a tremendous response, attracting over 950 applicants nationwide. Ms. Capella concluded, “The UAE is a nation where women rise as leaders, changemakers, and cultural ambassadors, and every finalist showcased extraordinary talent, intelligence, and heart.”
Mariam Mohamed is now in full preparation for the Miss Universe 2025 pageant, where she will compete against delegates from nearly 90 nations.
