Islamabad – August 6, 2025 – Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary, has categorically dismissed recent rumors suggesting that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir would be assuming the role of President. In a recent interview, the DG ISPR labeled such reports as “completely baseless,” aiming to put an end to speculation that has been circulating in certain circles.
Lieutenant General Chaudhary also addressed and rejected what he described as political analyses following the Marka-e-Haq, a move that he indicated was being misinterpreted to fuel political narratives. His statements underscore the military’s professional role and its commitment to upholding the constitutional framework of the nation, steering clear of political machinations.
A significant portion of the interview was dedicated to matters of national defense and strategic deterrence. When asked about Pakistan’s potential response to any military action by India, the DG ISPR issued a stern warning. He stated unequivocally that any such move would be met with a swift and decisive response, which would include “deep strikes inside India.” Lieutenant General Chaudhary specified that these strikes would not be limited to the western border but would commence from the “East of India.”
The DG ISPR’s comments served as a clear message, emphasizing that Pakistan possesses the capability and resolve to defend its sovereignty. He concluded with a powerful declaration, cautioning India to be acutely aware that it is vulnerable and can be attacked anywhere, a statement intended to highlight the comprehensive nature of Pakistan’s defense strategy and its capacity for retaliation. The interview concluded with other national news updates.
