Pop superstar Miley Cyrus has confirmed her engagement to her partner of four years, musician Maxx Morando, following speculation after she was seen wearing a gold and diamond ring at a recent movie premiere in Los Angeles. The three-time Grammy winner, aged 33, shared the news during an interview on Good Morning America, revealing that the 27-year-old drummer proposed during a recent trip to Asia.
Cyrus expressed her genuine shock and delight, noting that she was “so, so, so surprised” despite her tendency to “control every situation,” indicating she had “completely surrendered” to the moment. The couple reportedly met after being “put on a blind date” four years ago. Cyrus, whose hits include Flowers and Party in the U.S.A, praised Morando, saying he “did good” with the ring choice and emphasizing the significant personal growth she has experienced during their relationship. Morando is the drummer for the LA-based band Liily and previously performed alongside Cyrus at her 2022 New Year’s Eve Party.

This engagement follows Cyrus’s previous marriage to actor Liam Hemsworth, which ended in divorce in 2019. In related news, Cyrus’s latest song, Dream as One, is featured in the new Avatar movie, though the singer has stated she currently has “no desire” to tour, due to the difficulty of maintaining sobriety and mental health on the road.
