The Army Rocket Force Command today announced the successful training launch of the indigenously developed Fateh-II missile system. The launch, overseen by senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division (SPD), Army Rocket Force Command, and the Pakistan Army, along with scientists and engineers from strategic organizations, demonstrated the missile system’s advanced capabilities.

According to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Fateh-II is equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigation aids. The training launch focused on preparing troops, validating technical specifications, and evaluating the performance of the missile’s various sub-systems. These enhancements contribute to improved accuracy and enhanced survivability.
The successful launch was lauded by President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, and services chiefs, who praised the technical expertise, dedication, and commitment of the team involved.
This achievement follows previous successful tests, including the training launch of the cruise missile Fatah-4 in September 2025 and the test launch of a surface-to-surface missile (120km range) in May of last year. Also in May, Pakistan successfully tested the Abdali weapon system, a surface-to-surface ballistic missile with a reported range of 450km. The Pakistan Navy has also recently conducted successful missile tests, including the ‘Taimoor’ air-launched cruise missile and an anti-ship ballistic missile.
