Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir met with the Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday to discuss regional security and institutional collaboration.

Strengthening Counter-Terrorism Frameworks
The high-level meeting focused on the evolving security dynamics of the region. Both leaders reached a consensus on enhancing cooperation through collaborative strategies, including:
- Intelligence Sharing: Streamlining the exchange of critical data to preempt security threats.
- Capacity Building: Developing the tactical and strategic capabilities of IMCTC member states.
- Collaborative Strategies: Aligning efforts to dismantle extremist ideologies and networks.
Field Marshal Asim Munir commended the IMCTC for its pivotal role in fostering stability and coordinating counter-terrorism initiatives across the Islamic world. In turn, Major General Al-Moghedi lauded the Pakistan military’s professionalism and recognized the nation’s “significant contributions and sacrifices” in the global war on terror.
Academic, and Field Collaboration
As part of the visit, a specialized IMCTC team is conducting a week-long training program at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST). The training focuses on the “re-integration and rehabilitation of extremist elements,” a critical pillar in the long-term strategy to ensure lasting peace and social stability.

Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the IMCTC is a 41-nation intergovernmental alliance dedicated to protecting Muslim countries from terrorism. The coalition is currently led by Commander-in-Chief General (retd) Raheel Sharif, the former Pakistan army chief.
