Pakistan and Kuwait have signed the, “Protocol Agreement 2026.” The agreement was signed at Pakistan’s Ministry of Defence. The purpose of the protocol agreement is to expand the defence ties between both nations, and the enhance the defence framework established previously under the 2023 Defence Cooperation Agreement.

The agreement was signed in a meeting between high-level officials of Pakistan and Kuwait i.e., Defence Minister Khawaja Asif and Kuwait’s Defence Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Saleem Al-Sabah. The latter was also accompanied by Chief of General Staff Lt. Gen. Khalid Darj Saad Al-Shriaan.
The key aspects of the, “Protocol Agreement 2026” include:
- The Armed Forces of Pakistan will assist Kuwait in military training, capacity building, border management, and technical areas of defence collaboration.
- CDF and COAS Field Marshal Asim Munir met Kuwaiti delegation at General Headquarters (GHQ) to discuss regional security and institutional military ties.
- The signing of the Protocol Agreement follows official ratification of the 2023 defence framework and coincides with regional security initiatives like the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to translating historic ties into an enduring security partnership for regional peace.
