Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was conferred Pakistan’s highest civil award, the Nishan-e-Pakistan, during a special investiture ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad tonight.
President Asif Ali Zardari presented the prestigious award, recognizing the Indonesian leader’s significant efforts to strengthen the long-standing, cordial relations between the two nations, whose diplomatic ties are currently celebrating their 75th anniversary.
The high-profile ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of Pakistani leadership, including Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Chairman and Speaker of Parliament, and all three service chiefs: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Air Staff, and the Chief of Naval Staff.
President Subianto is on an official two-day visit to Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by a high-level delegation.

His visit is focused on exploring new avenues of cooperation across crucial sectors such as trade, investment, defense, health, and IT, with both sides aiming to sign several memoranda of understanding to deepen the bilateral strategic partnership beyond the symbolic goodwill recognized by the conferral of the Nishan-e-Pakistan.
