Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has officially extended the deepest condolences of the Government and the people of Pakistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran following the martyrdom of His Eminence, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
In a formal statement issued from the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Sharif noted that Pakistan joins its neighbor in a profound hour of “grief and sorrow.” The Prime Minister characterized the loss of the Supreme Leader as “irreparable” for the Iranian nation and the wider region.

Violation of International Norms
The Prime Minister expressed grave concern over the nature of the military action that led to the Supreme Leader’s death. He emphasized that the targeting of a Head of State represents a blatant “violation of the norms of international law.”
“It is an age-old convention that Heads of State and Government should not be targeted,” the Prime Minister stated, underscoring that such actions undermine the foundational principles of global diplomacy and sovereignty.
Message of Solidarity
Extending his prayers for the departed soul, Prime Minister Sharif called upon the international community to recognize the sanctity of national leadership. He concluded his message with a prayer for the Iranian people: “May Allah Almighty grant patience and strength to the Iranian people to bear this irreparable loss.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reinforced this sentiment, remains in close contact with Tehran, and has ordered Pakistani missions in Iran to provide all necessary support to Pakistani nationals during the designated period of mourning.
