On January 15, 2026, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially inaugurated Pakistan’s first “Assan Khidmat Markaz” in Sector G-9, Islamabad. This one-stop service center is designed to revolutionize public service delivery by bringing multiple federal departments under one roof. The federal government plans to rapidly expand this citizen-centric model across the country. PM Shehbaz announced that the next phase will involve establishing similar centers in Muzaffarabad and Gilgit-Baltistan as a “gift” to those regions. Furthermore, dedicated counters are expected to be set up in Pakistani embassies abroad to facilitate the overseas community. To maintain transparency, the centers will undergo quarterly third-party audits. This development marks a significant shift toward modernizing Pakistan’s governance ecosystem through international partnership and digital innovation.
