WhatsApp has officially launched its long-awaited Apple Watch app, allowing users to read, reply, and react to messages, as well as send voice notes directly from their wrist. The update supports watchOS 10 and later on Apple Watch Series 4 and above.
While users can’t yet take calls on the Watch, notifications will appear, and calls can seamlessly transfer to the paired iPhone. The app maintains end-to-end encryption for all messages and calls.

The rollout marks a major step in Meta’s expansion beyond phones and tablets, following the recent WhatsApp launch for iPad with support for video calls of up to 32 participants.
Meta said it plans to add more functionality soon, calling this release “just the start” of WhatsApp’s Apple Watch journey.
Despite WhatsApp’s global dominance, the move is notable given its late arrival on Apple’s wearable, years after rivals like Signal and Snapchat entered the smartwatch space.
