COAS, Chinese Foreign Minister Reaffirm Strategic Partnership and Regional Cooperation









Islamabad — Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Mr. Wang Yi, during his official engagements in Pakistan, held a significant meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at General Headquarters, Islamabad.

Focus on Regional Security and Counter-Terrorism

The meeting centered on discussions related to regional security, counter-terrorism cooperation, and broader matters of mutual interest. Both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering resolve to deepen the Pakistan–China all-weather strategic cooperative partnership, particularly in view of the rapidly evolving regional dynamics.

Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated Beijing’s firm and enduring support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, security, and socio-economic development. He stressed that China would continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Pakistan at all times, highlighting the iron-clad friendship that has withstood the test of time.

Field Marshal Asim Munir expressed deep gratitude to the Chinese leadership and people for their consistent support to Pakistan, both in strategic matters and developmental projects. He reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to safeguarding national sovereignty and working closely with China to ensure regional stability and security.

The two sides agreed to further enhance coordination at regional and international forums, underscoring their shared interest in fostering peace, stability, and prosperity across South Asia and beyond. They also reaffirmed their determination to counter terrorism, promote connectivity, and advance socio-economic cooperation under the broader framework of the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.
