Lahore: Hundreds Take to Streets for Punjab’s Largest Cycle Ride

The Punjab Sports Department successfully hosted the province’s largest-ever mass cycling event in Lahore, drawing over 600 male, female, and child cyclists. The 12-km main ride, which started and ended at Liberty Chowk after passing through the CBD Kalma Chowk, was led by Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar. The event served as the department’s first major sports activity of the year, aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and a vibrant sports culture across the region.

Beyond the non-competitive ride, separate high-stakes races were held at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex. In the women’s category, Fatima Tahir clinched first place, while Ali Hassan emerged victorious in the men’s race. The government used the platform to announce upcoming major events for the “Year of Youth,” including the Khelta Punjab Pink Games for female athletes and the Lahore Marathon, which is expected to host a record 10,000 runners.
