In a move to strengthen the longstanding ties between the two nations, Mr. Murat Nurtleu, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has commenced a two-day official visit to Pakistan. The visit, which will conclude on September 9, serves as a crucial preparatory step for the forthcoming official visit of the President of Kazakhstan, scheduled for November 2025.

Mr. Nurtleu is heading a high-level 13-member delegation, which includes the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan, reflecting the importance both countries place on enhancing connectivity and economic partnership. This delegation-level engagement underscores a shared commitment to deepening cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
During his stay in Islamabad, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan will participate in a series of high-level meetings. The centerpiece of the visit will be a one-on-one meeting with Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, which will be followed by comprehensive delegation-level talks. These discussions are designed to thoroughly review preparations for the upcoming Presidential visit and to explore the full spectrum of Pakistan–Kazakhstan bilateral relations.
The discussions will focus on several key areas of mutual interest, including:
- Trade and Investment: Deliberating on strategies to expand bilateral trade volume and facilitate investment opportunities.
- Agriculture: Fostering cooperation in the agricultural sector to ensure food security and shared growth.
- Education, Cultural, and Tourism Exchanges: Promoting greater people-to-people contact through collaborative programs and initiatives.
- Regional Connectivity and Logistics: Advancing joint projects to enhance physical connectivity and streamline logistics between Central and South Asia.
- Multilateral Collaboration: Coordinating on key regional and international issues at various multilateral fora.
On the sidelines of the official talks, meetings of the Joint Working Groups on Agriculture and IT will also be convened. These specialized forums aim to develop concrete frameworks for cooperation in these vital sectors.
Furthermore, Mr. Nurtleu is scheduled to make courtesy calls on the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, providing an additional opportunity for high-level consultations on matters of shared importance.
The Government of Pakistan views this visit as a significant milestone in the bilateral relationship.
