Pakistan Links Operation to Counter-Terror Strategy

Pakistan has made it clear that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until Kabul provides credible guarantees and takes practical steps to stop support for militant groups targeting Pakistan. According to security officials, the operation is not a short-term retaliation but part of Pakistan’s broader and ongoing fight against terrorism.

Authorities emphasise that the main concern is not the Afghan people but the policies of the Afghan Taliban leadership, which Pakistan accuses of allowing militant organisations to operate from Afghan territory. Officials argue that these groups use cross-border safe havens to plan attacks inside Pakistan, creating persistent security challenges. By linking the operation to long-standing counter-terror goals, Islamabad is signaling that the campaign will continue until concrete policy changes emerge from Kabul.

Military Operations Intensify Along the Border

Recent updates from security sources suggest that Pakistan’s military operations have expanded along multiple border sectors. Airstrikes reportedly targeted the Afghan Taliban’s Brigade Headquarters of the 205 Corps in Kandahar, along with ammunition depots and several operational posts.

According to officials, dozens of enemy positions were hit with both small and heavy weapons during overnight engagements near Chaman, Zhob, Qila Saifullah, and Nushki. Security forces claim the operations are based strictly on verified intelligence and are focused only on terrorist infrastructure.

At the same time, Pakistan continues intelligence-based operations inside the country, reportedly conducting hundreds of counter-terror actions daily to dismantle militant networks and disrupt cross-border launch pads.
