President Asif Ali Zardari has approved summaries sent by the Prime Minister for the conferment of national civil awards on 355 individuals, alongside military decorations for 1,172 personnel of the Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces, on the occasion of Independence Day.
The national civil awards recognize outstanding achievements across science, engineering, education, medicine, the arts, literature, sports, journalism, social welfare, philanthropy, and public service. The announcements also feature a significant slate of gallantry decorations, primarily honoring Federal Constabulary personnel martyred in the line of duty.

Nishan-i-Pakistan: UAE Family Development Foundation Supreme Chairwoman Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.

Nishan-i-Quaid-i-Azam: Late physicians Dr. Jal Rattanji Patel and Dr. Jal Daeboo for their medical service to the founder of Pakistan.

Nishan-i-Imtiaz: Poet Asad Muhammad Khan, foreign dignitaries, key cabinet ministers, senior public figures, and the late scholar Muhammad Asad.
Additionally, the President approved 91 dedicated gallantry awards—including 48 Sitara-i-Shuja’at and 24 Tamgha-i-Shuja’at—along with a special 100-day sentence remission for eligible prisoners.
The civil awards announced on August 14 will be formally presented at the traditional investiture ceremony on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2027.
