Trump declares ‘Peace’ in Middle East

Oct 14, 2025 | Global Affairs, Latest News

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif represented Pakistan at the historic Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt, where US President Donald Trump declared an end to the two-year conflict in Gaza. The landmark ceasefire deal was cemented by four guarantor nations: the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkiye, who pledged comprehensive peace and security for the region. The deal also facilitated an immediate prisoner exchange, including the release of approximately 2,000 Palestinian captives from Israeli prisons.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi affirmed that the agreement sets the crucial stage for achieving a two-state solution. In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed President Trump as a “genuinely a man of peace” and announced his offer to nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize for his extraordinary efforts in securing peace in both South Asia and the Middle East.

President Trump reciprocated the sentiment, extending his thanks to Prime Minister Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir for their vital contributions to the peace process. Pakistan’s active participation, which included a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, underscores its unwavering commitment to regional stability.
