In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the move follows “tremendous interest” from the public. He instructed the defence department and other relevant agencies to review and prepare documents connected to what he described as “highly complex, but extremely interesting and important matters.” However, he did not clearly state whether classified materials would be fully declassified.
Obama’s Comments Spark Public Attention
The announcement comes shortly after former President Barack Obama spoke about the possibility of alien life during a podcast interview. Obama said that given the vast size of the universe, it is statistically possible that life exists elsewhere.
He later clarified that during his presidency, he saw no evidence that aliens had visited Earth or were being secretly kept in government facilities. His remarks quickly went viral, increasing public discussion around UFOs and extraterrestrial life.
