Artists Revolt After Epstein File Revelations
Powerful talent executive Casey Wasserman is facing mounting backlash after his name surfaced in newly released documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The files revealed that Wasserman flew on Epstein’s plane in 2002 and exchanged suggestive emails in 2003 with Ghislaine Maxwell, who was later convicted for her role in Epstein’s abuse of minors.
Although Wasserman has not been accused of any crime, several high-profile artists have cut ties with his agency. Singer Chappell Roan announced she was leaving, saying artists deserve representation that aligns with their values. Musicians Orville Peck and Weyes Blood soon followed, along with others. Many expressed sympathy for agency staff but said leadership must be held accountable. Wasserman previously said he regrets any association with Epstein and Maxwell, stressing he had no personal or business relationship with Epstein and that his flight was part of a humanitarian trip connected to the Clinton Foundation.

Pressure Mounts Beyond Hollywood
The controversy extends beyond entertainment. Wasserman also leads the organizing committee for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. While some local officials have called for him to step down, the LA28 Executive Board has publicly supported his continued leadership. The backlash follows a massive release of Justice Department documents tied to Epstein, sparking renewed public scrutiny of powerful figures mentioned in the files.
