Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the PM House on Tuesday. The diplomatic encounter comes as Pakistan intensifies mediation efforts to restore the collapsed Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and contain an escalating conflict between the United States and Iran.
The Iranian dignitary arrived in the capital on Monday night accompanied by a senior delegation—including the governor-general of Sistan and Baluchestan province, the deputy minister of urban development and transport, and the head of the National Iranian Oil Company. Momeni was received by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry. His itinerary also includes meetings with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

Ceremonial Honor and Mediation Context
Prior to his engagement at the PM House, Momeni was honored with a police parade and a formal guard of honor presented by a Federal Constabulary contingent at the Pakistan Monument, accompanied by Tallal Chaudhry.
