An Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon killed Abbas Hassan Kurki, a senior Hezbollah logistics commander, in a major violation of the fragile ceasefire agreement.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, Kurki’s vehicle was struck by a guided missile near the village of Toul, close to Nabatieh. Hezbollah confirmed his death, describing him as a key figure managing the group’s southern supply operations.
The Israeli military claimed responsibility, saying it had targeted Hezbollah’s “southern front logistics commander.” The attack further undermines the November 2024 ceasefire, which was meant to end more than a year of cross-border conflict.
Despite the truce, Israel has continued air and drone strikes, while Lebanon faces U.S. pressure to disarm Hezbollah.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam recently urged Israel to halt its operations and withdraw from occupied territories, warning that continued violations risk reigniting full-scale hostilities.
