The Senate of Pakistan has passed a scathing, unanimous resolution condemning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent proposal to form a “hexagon of alliances” involving India to counter Muslim nations. The resolution, moved by PPP Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan, warns that such a strategic doctrine poses a direct threat to regional stability and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

The “Hexagon” Doctrine: Netanyahu’s Vision
During a cabinet meeting on Sunday, February 22, Netanyahu unveiled a new strategic architecture designed to reshape the Middle East:
-
The Alliance: The proposed “hexagon” includes Israel, India, Greece, and Cyprus, along with “unnamed Arab, African, and Asian countries.”
-
The Target: Netanyahu explicitly framed the bloc as a counterweight to “radical axes,” specifically naming both the “radical Shia axis” (led by Iran) and an “emerging radical Sunni axis.”
-
Strategic Timing: The announcement comes on the eve of Indian PM Narendra Modi’s state visit to Israel (February 25–26), where he is expected to address the Knesset and formalize high-tech, AI, and security cooperation.
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said there is a “tremendous alliance between Israel and India, and we are going to discuss all sorts of cooperation”.

Condemning Gaza Violations: Senators condemned Israel’s continued disregard for the ICJ’s Advisory Opinion and ongoing ceasefire violations in Gaza, calling for an immediate end to “Israeli impunity.”
