The city of Peshawar hosted a vibrant ceremony to celebrate China’s National Day, underscoring the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China and highlighting the city’s emerging role as a hub of trade, culture, and regional connectivity.

Speaking at the event, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary emphasized that Peshawar’s strategic location near Afghanistan and Central Asia positions it as a key centre for economic collaboration and cross-border exchange. “Peshawar can become a centre of trade, culture, and exchange, bringing prosperity to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the entire region,” he said.

He added, “On this special day, let us pledge to work hand in hand for a brighter future. Together, Pakistan and China can overcome challenges, seize new opportunities, and contribute not only to the prosperity of our two nations but also to peace and development across the region and the world.”

Earlier, Amjad Aziz Malik, Administrator of China Window — a prominent Chinese cultural centre in Peshawar — extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of China on their National Day. He expressed hope that the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and China would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.

The event was attended by a distinguished gathering, including former world squash champions Jansher Khan and Qamar Zaman, former governor Engr. Shaukatullah, Vice-Chancellor of Women University Mardan Dr. Razia Sultana, Provincial Minister Qasim Ali Shah, and Members of the Provincial Assembly Mehr Sultana, Shazia Tehmas, and Aiman Jalil.

The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting celebration symbolizing unity and mutual goodwill between the two nations — a reflection of the evergreen bond of friendship that continues to define Pakistan–China relations.
