Global pop icon Taylor Swift has already achieved another milestone in streaming history, as her song “Opalite” became a new record in the history of Spotify. The song, which is a part of her most recent album, The Life of a Showgirl, has become the quickest non-single in the history of Spotify to pass 200 million streams, surpassing the previous record of Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather.”

The success highlights the unmatched commercial strength and fanbase of Swift, the so-called Swifties, who immediately took to the streets to congratulate the milestone on Twitter. The second song by The Life of a Showgirl to reach 200 million streams is called Opalite.

Although the album was met with mixed critical reception, which has been characterized by the listeners as unpolished, The Life of a Showgirl has remained at the top of streaming charts around the world. The first single of the album, The Fate of Ophelia, is a monument of success, as it took the first position in the Global Spotify list 21 days in a row and has more than 8.98 million daily streams.

The song “Opalite” has a special status among the fans and the artist herself, as it was often mentioned that it is the favorite song of her fiance, Travis Kelce. The enormous organic success of the song has resulted in its high demand among fans most of whom are lobbying to have it officially released as a second single in the album.
