President Trump Projects Imminent Expansion of Abraham Accords

Oct 20, 2025 | Global Affairs

President Donald Trump today expressed strong optimism regarding the near-term expansion of the Abraham Accords, stating that he expects several more nations to normalize relations with Israel soon. Speaking in a televised interview, President Trump specifically highlighted his hope for the accession of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

President Trump indicated that diplomatic conversations are ongoing and productive, noting he had “some very good conversations” as recently as Wednesday with states willing to join the pact.

“I hope to see Saudi Arabia go in, and I hope to see others go in. I think when Saudi Arabia goes in, everybody goes in,” President Trump stated, underscoring the potential catalytic effect of Riyadh joining the agreement.

The Abraham Accords, initially brokered during President Trump’s first term in 2020, resulted in the normalization of diplomatic ties between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. These agreements represented a historic shift in regional policy, establishing a new framework for economic and security cooperation.

President Trump views the ongoing momentum surrounding the Accords as central to achieving a comprehensive and lasting regional peace settlement, citing the initiative as the catalyst for wider stability following his recent plan to address the Gaza conflict. He also reiterated his long-held belief in the potential for even further diplomatic breakthroughs, including a possible peace arrangement between Iran and Israel.

While momentum builds for the Accords, the statement notes that some nations, including Pakistan, have maintained that their recognition of Israel is contingent upon the acceptance of a two-state solution to the Palestinian conflict.

President Trump concluded that he believes the remaining nations will “all go in very soon,” signaling a belief that a new chapter of comprehensive peace and prosperity in the Middle East is on the horizon.
