The Federal Ombudsperson for Protection Against Harassment (FOSPAH) has launched a serious investigation into two of Pakistan’s major ride-hailing service providers, Yango Pakistan and InDrive Pakistan, demanding immediate compliance with the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010 following multiple sexual harassment complaints filed against their drivers.
Prompted by a detailed complaint concerning a Yango driver who allegedly made sexual advances and diverted from the designated route, FOSPAH has issued formal notices requiring both companies to furnish detailed evidence of their internal safety mechanisms, including proof of their legally mandated Inquiry Committee, the dissemination of the official Code of Conduct, and a complete record of all harassment-related complaints from the past three years.
FOSPAH underscored that these companies carry an elevated responsibility to ensure a safe and dignified travel environment, especially for women who rely on their services daily.

In response, both Yango and InDrive maintained they operate with a “zero-tolerance policy”, claiming they utilize 24/7 customer care, perform driver verification checks, and immediately ban or suspend accused drivers if guilt is confirmed, while also utilizing GPS tracking to detect and flag any unusual ride patterns or route diversions.
