Brendan Carr, U.S Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has threatened to revoke the broadcast licenses of major networks over their coverage of the war with Iran. Aligning with a Truth Social post from Trump that accused the media of “running hoaxes,” Carr warned broadcasters to “correct course” before their renewals. The President specifically criticized The Wall Street Journal for reporting on the destruction of five American refueling planes, labeling the headline “intentionally misleading.”

This escalation follows a series of aggressive moves by Carr to eliminate what he perceives as liberal bias, including the temporary suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and investigations into The View. Meanwhile, U.S Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signaled a potential shift in media ownership, highlighting David Ellison’s pending $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. This deal could bring CNN under the control of Ellison, who has already installed more conservative leadership at CBS News.
