Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, hosted critical high-level meetings in Islamabad on Wednesday with the United Kingdom’s Minister for International Development, Baroness Jenny Chapman, and the UAE Ambassador, Salem Al Zaabi, to reinforce strategic partnerships.

During the meeting with Baroness Chapman, who is on a multi-day visit to head the first ministerial-level Pakistan-UK Development Talks since 2017, the two sides discussed deepening cooperation in digitalization, climate resilience, and governance reforms.
Dar highlighted the Pakistani-British community as a vital bridge between the nations and shared perspectives on international peace efforts in Gaza. Parallelly, the Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the new UAE Ambassador, Salem Al Bawab Al Zaabi, extending warm felicitations on the UAE’s 54th Eid Al Etihad.
Reaffirming the historic fraternal ties and strategic partnership, Dar emphasized the expansion of trade and long-term investment beyond traditional support mechanisms.
The Ambassador briefed the Minister on significant visa facilitation reforms, including streamlining travel for Pakistani professionals and investors, marking a commitment to mutual prosperity.
These back-to-back meetings underscore Pakistan’s proactive diplomatic engagement to stabilize its economy through international technical assistance and stronger regional security collaboration, ensuring that the country remains a key player in both global development narratives and enduring fraternal networks.
