Humanitarian and Infrastructure Impact
The bombardment, which triggered a 10-hour air raid alert in the capital, has resulted in civilian casualties and widespread damage:
- Casualties: At least two deaths have been confirmed in the Kyiv region, with 46 others wounded, including two children.
- Energy Crisis: State grid operator Ukrenergo reported targeted strikes on energy facilities. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed that emergency power cuts have left approximately 600,000 households without electricity.
“Today, Russia demonstrated how it responds to peaceful negotiations,” President Zelensky stated. “This is a deliberate attempt to intimidate Ukraine and its partners on the eve of decisive diplomatic efforts.”

Despite the ongoing strikes, President Zelensky confirmed his departure for the United States to meet with President Donald Trump. The discussions will focus on a 20-point draft document intended to serve as the foundation for ending the nearly four-year conflict.
