PM Shehbaz Sharif Pledges “Full Force” Against Extremism and Violent Ideologies

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating all forms of terrorism, hatred, and violent ideologies. In a powerful address marking the International Day for the Prevention of Violent Extremism as and when Conducive to Terrorism, the Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan remains at the global forefront of the struggle for peace.

Highlighting the nation’s immense toll, the Prime Minister noted that Pakistan has rendered “unparalleled sacrifices” over decades. He paid tribute to the security personnel and innocent citizens whose resilience serves as a testament to the country’s national resolve against radicalization.

Core Pillars of the National Strategy

The Prime Minister’s message outlined a multi-dimensional approach to securing a peaceful future for Pakistan:

  • Ideological Defense: Emphasizing that Islam is a religion of peace, moderation, and tolerance that strictly mandates respect for human life.

  • Youth Empowerment: A call to protect the younger generation by providing quality education, economic opportunities, and a positive social outlook to shield them from extremist narratives.

  • Socio-Economic Inclusion: Asserting that social justice and interfaith harmony are the essential foundations for sustainable, long-term peace.

A Call for International Justice

Prime Minister Sharif bridged the gap between domestic peace and global stability, arguing that unresolved international disputes fuel extremist tendencies. He specifically highlighted the ongoing human rights violations and state oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine.

“Global injustices and protracted conflicts contribute significantly to the rise of violence,” the Prime Minister stated, urging the international community to move beyond rhetoric and take effective measures for the just resolution of these enduring conflicts.

Pakistan concluded its message with a pledge to continue collaborating with the global community through collective strategies and partnerships to promote a just and peaceful international order.
